Tracking your fitness data can be a drag. Double-wristing a watch on one wrist and a fitness tracker on the other just never feels right. G-SHOCK’s new lineup of “Full Connect Trainers” gives you the best of both worlds - a watch that looks and feels like a watch that can also pull off some pretty neat fitness tracking tricks. The GBA900 has all the G-SHOCK aesthetic and toughness that you’ve come to expect from the brand while packing some seriously useful data recording within the new Bluetooth-enabled module inside.
Measuring in at 48.9mm wide, 51.3mm long, and 16.6mm thick, the GBA900 makes a bold appearance on your wrist. An angular resin case that’s shock-resistant houses an analog/digital dial inside that’s easy to read at a glance. You can even set the watch to keep the hands out of the way during a workout for an unobstructed view of the digital screen. A resin band with two additional “wings” keep the watch secured to your wrist and slip-free during exercise. Up top, the mineral glass protects the dial underneath that features a brand new LCD screen design that allows the watch to remain thinner with a larger display area for even more functionality. You’re able to see running measurement, an exercise intensity meter, a circular step tracker, and an interval timer with five different settings.
Inside the GBA900, the 5641 module packs in some unique fitness tracking and timing features. After an initial workout session, the watch analyzes distance from your smartphone against the accelerometer in the watch. Future workouts can then calculate distance without relying on the smartphone connection for a phone-free experience. There are also standard timekeeping features like dual time, a 1/100 sec. Stopwatch, countdown timer, and much more.
